Nominator's project description
| Professor Dr. Jeremy N. McNeil has used several model systems to elucidate physiological and ecological aspects of migration and mating in insects, as well as insect-plant interactions. His fundamental interdisciplinary research has decisively contributed to a better understanding of important ecological phenomena and the development of refined methods of integrated pest management. Professor McNeil will collaborate with chemnists at the Universities of Hamburg and Braunschweig to identify insect and plant produced volatile signals involved in mating of parasitic wasps and the selection of oviposition sites by moths. |
